On this day in 1981, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was first released in theaters, introducing audiences to Indiana Jones and redefining the great adventure film. With unforgettable set pieces, an iconic score by John Williams, and a hero who could get hurt and still win, its influence is still felt today.

🌑THE DARK TOUR🌑

In June 1940, the original blade marquee was replaced with the colorful neon marquee that has become the iconic representation of Wichita Orpheum Theatre today. The original neon marquee was made by the Claude Neon Federal Company and required 37 transformers to operate. Once the theatre closed in 1976, the neon was removed, the marquee was taken down, and the Historic Preservation Alliance of Wichita & Sedgwick County rescued it for preservation. The marquee you know and love today is a replica of the 1940s marquee, made by Miracle Signs and installed in 2001 to great fanfare.

Reminder to head to White Crow Cider Company at 2pm today for Raiders of the Lost Ark Bingo!

The White Crow team is bringing adventure, mystery, and a little bit of chaos to bingo with themed prizes and tickets to our screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark on June 18.

Bingo is free to play but seating is first come, first served so we encourage you to come early. Players are welcome to bring food and snacks to enjoy while playing. So gather your fellow explorers and join us for an afternoon of bingo, prizes, laughter, and cinematic adventure!
