⭐️ Interpretation of my own piece:

As an artist I’m always striving to expand my repertoire and the stylistic approach I have in my creative process, freeing my hands to make pieces that I know are not perfect; That way I quell my purists of comparison. My body of work sometimes reflect my own dysphoric perspective of self, and how I disguise emotions to play the fool later. My joy in this world and artistic growth are not entwined but are shedding the same skin. I am hoping to find ways to whisper instead of shout, and feel rather than compete.

Recently, I was incredibly honored to have been asked to adjudicate the NCAA League Art Exhibition hosted by Lyons High School at Sterling College!

This experience alongside was super rewarding to me in terms of how one appreciates art. I learned how creativity never stops outside of a city too, and I was blown away by the abilities of these kiddos. From my remarks as a judge, I only remember one phrase; Keep creating, the world deserves you…

How poignant that was for me to hear from my mouth as a creative myself…

One must never give up.
One must never give in.
While I am still here
I’ll create til the end.
