We'd like to invite you to join us on our new page for our improv troupe, Pun Intended! Please feel free to "like" our page and join us for our first performance on Saturday, April 1st at 7 p.m. Further details can be found on our Pun Intended page.

Improv is a fun way to spend an evening! The audience provides the actors with scenarios, locations, or other basic information. The actors then create skits based on the audience's ideas!

We have the usual improv games, but we have also added improvised piano and vocal music and film dubs - film clips with sound turned off so the actors can improvise the dialogue!

Each show is 100% unique because each audience is 100% unique!

Our actors have won multiple gold medals for their improv skills; have worked teaching and creating improv for many years and are excited to meet you and to hear your original ideas that they will then turn into an evening of unexpected, always G rated, always entertaining fun!

Due to some internet problems, two posts that were set to go ended up disappearing. Since I have hundreds of photos to post, and I'm a bit unsure of which posted and which did not, I'm going to do one last post (for now) about past melodramas, and then move on to our new venture!

Many, many thanks to everyone who made these shows a reality! DaLena Whipple is the expert, artistic seamstress who made everyone look so good. Various directors have shaped each show. Many actors have played their parts with dedication and brought characters to life. Every cast worked together to create sets, find props and even write skits. Maybe someday we will work together again! I know I appreciate every one of you beyond what I can express with mere words.

And now: some hints about the new venture. It will involve puppets telling Bible stories, black and white movies and TV shows with sound turned off, lots of music, foreign film dubs, audience participation and much more. Any ideas about what this will be?

We produced "A Golden Fleecing" about a decade ago.

When we were first coming out of the shutdowns, mask orders and other destructive agendas, I knew we needed to start getting together again and overcoming the fear, despair and loneliness that had been forced on us for the past two years. So we did the same show about a year ago; and many of the same cast returned!

Because of the stress of the past two years, there were memory problems, short tempers and cautious behavior in a show that required lots of confidence. But we made it through, and I think everyone benefited from being in the show, coming out stronger, healthier and much happier.

I really do love giving people a chance to do what they love, to make new friends and to entertain audiences (which were also in short supply and cautious... but oh, how they laughed during our show!). God created art, theater, humor, laughter, and friendships and we honor Him when we use these things to heal and to love others.

Happy New Year, everyone! I am looking forward to 2023 being a year full of joy, peace and love... and it will be, as long as we are following God's will. He brings all of these things in abundance!

One of my favorite melodramas is "The Paper Bag Bandit" simply because it is so funny that the Sheriff is the bandit and that the only disguise he wears is a paper bag; but none of the townsfolks can figure out who he is! We've produced this show 4-5 times, with various troupes and on various stages. These photos are of one of our productions of this show staged around 2013.

These are photos from a melodrama we produced in 2012. Unfortunately, I don't remember the title of this show! But it featured dueling chefs, the usual trio of hero, heroine and villain, and the cutest little sign-carrying boy ever!

These photos are basically in backward order, for some reason, and so I decided to leave them that way. We begin... with the end! Here are some photos of the curtain call. Tomorrow I'll post some from the actual show.

"The Paper Bag Bandit" was a melodrama that featured a fearsome villain who robbed the innocent townspeople while wearing a paper bag! Who was under that terrible paper bag?

Here are some pre-show photos and a few from the show itself; more photos from the show coming soon!
