East Heights UMC Sunday Funday is one of our favorite events of the year! Although we weren’t there in person, we were still happy to see the community come out and enjoy the event, and to see the colorable mural come alive!

So excited for the community at EH UMC! ❤️

Our last, (but certainly not least) Artist Spotlight goes out to the extremely talented Sheldon Draper! Sheldon is known around Wichita for his colorful, serendipitous paint strokes and did not disappoint when he joined the Get Ya Color On for the Somewhere Fest collab!

Sheldon Draper, (born in 1995), grew up in Wichita, Kansas. Draper specializes in mixed media techniques which have developed as a result of years of making art.

Draper is involved in the local arts scene. He has participated in various arts markets, done live art at shows for local bands, had various exhibitions in galleries around town, and has a few works on display in public art collections.

Sheldon’s mailboxes serve as interactive art prices as Somewhere Fest friends stopped by and left ‘Welcome Home’ notes to families who will be receiving a tiny home in our community in the near future!

Thanks for joining the team Draper!

Our first artist spotlight goes out to Wichita Artist Slim Suber! He joined the Get Ya Color On team for this Somewhere Fest collab representing Stand Together and Craftsman Houses with his own curated, hand painted designs for these beautiful mailboxes!!

Slim’s mailboxes serve as interactive art pieces as Somewhere Fest friends stopped by and left ‘Welcome Home’ notes to families who will be receiving a tiny home in our community in the near future!

“I’m a Wichita, Kansas artist inspired by graffiti, street art, bold lettering, and abstract creativity. I use spray paint and other mediums to bring my ideas to life, blending vibrant colors, wild styles, and my own artistic vision. My goal is to create art that stands out, represents where I come from, and gives people something unique to connect with.” — Slim Suber

Thanks again for joining the team Slim! You rocked the Neighborhood Mailbox Project! 💪🏾

Do it scared…
Do it when they doubt you ...
Do it when it seems impossible …
Do it 9 months pregnant ….
Do IT …
Follow your dreams. 🫟🎨

When you pass the The Care Portal Mural at Somewhere Fest today, remember that it is so much more than just a mural. It was curated to stand as a gravitational point for Wichita as it challenges us to address deep needs in our own community as well as helps us challenge and identify solutions to meet those needs!

This project stands tall, as a pillar in our community and in my hearts as it was SUCH an honor to create this mural in collaboration with Stand Together ! It’s been such an exciting thing to conquer!

May it serve as a reminder that we can stand together, as a community, enjoy one another, sing and dance, and live as one!

Wishing everyone an amazing day at Somewhere Fest 2026! 🦕🎸🎶❤️
