Our team, alongside some amazing volunteers, is hard at work putting the finishing touches on Envision Our City in preparation for next Saturday’s unveiling!

Join us for a special evening as we celebrate the unveiling of Envision Our City, a vibrant new community mural at the Envision Arts Center.

Designed as a bold and welcoming landmark in Wichita’s Delano District, this mural is more than public art—it is a declaration that art belongs to everyone, regardless of ability. Located on the south wall of the Envision Arts Center facing the Wichita Wind Surge stadium, the mural stands as a symbol of accessibility, creativity, and community pride.

Created through collaboration with AbilityPoint, Starkey, the Boys & Girls Club, the Alzheimer’s Association, Hutton Construction, and countless community members, Envision Our City celebrates the many voices that help shape our city.

Thank you to the students, artists, and community members who joined us today at the Wichita Art Museum for an artist talk, and the unveiling of Seeing America: American Scene Paintings from the Swope Art Museum.

Together, we celebrated the debut of the soundscapes, audio descriptions, tactile renditions, braille interpretation, and other accessibility features developed through a collaborative partnership between Envision Arts Center, the Wichita Art Museum, and Art Bridges.

This exhibition has been thoughtfully designed as an immersive, multi-sensory experience. Through touch, sound, and descriptive interpretation, visitors are invited to engage with the artwork in ways that extend beyond sight—creating a more accessible and meaningful experience for all.

We are grateful to everyone who helped bring this project to life and to those who joined us to experience it for the first time.

Connecting the Dots brings together artwork from the Early Childhood Development Center alongside pieces created in our Youth & Teen Workshops. Inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s exploration of repetition, pattern, and color, these young artists transformed dots into movement, rhythm, and imagination.

Across pumpkins, flowers, and drifting jellyfish, marks gather, scatter, and expand—layered over time with curiosity, energy, and joy. What emerges is more than play; it is a celebration of creativity in motion and the shared experience of making.

On display June 5–26 in the Patricia A. Peer Window Gallery at the Envision Arts Center.
