The Falls Asylum Commitment Fundraiser is a fun, lighthearted twist on the classic "jail and bail" fundraising event. Community members can nominate friends, family members, coworkers, or local personalities for a temporary "commitment" to the Falls Asylum—all in the spirit of supporting a great cause.
How It Works
1. Submit an Intake Form
o Anyone can refer a friend, family member, coworker, or community member for commitment by completing an official Intake Form.
o The form includes a humorous explanation of why the individual needs to be admitted to the Falls Asylum. Examples might include:
"Refuses to share their secret chili recipe."
"Has told the same fishing story 100 times."
"Thinks pineapple belongs on every pizza."
o All nominations should be good-natured and appropriate.
2. The Commitment
o On the day of the event, designated Asylum Staff will "apprehend" committed individuals and transport them to the Falls Asylum.
o Upon arrival, participants will be officially processed and welcomed into the facility.
3. Life Inside the Asylum
o Residents will enjoy a comfortable commitment complete with:
Snacks and refreshments
Games such as UNO and dominoes
Socializing with fellow residents
Opportunities to make phone calls, send messages, and post on social media to seek their release
4. Raise Your Commitment Fee
o To secure their release, residents must raise donations toward their assigned Commitment Fee.
o Participants contact friends, family members, coworkers, and supporters to contribute toward their release.
o Donations support the fundraiser's charitable mission.
5. Release and Celebration
o Once a participant reaches their fundraising goal, they earn their official release from the Falls Asylum and a copy of their Certificate of Insanity.
