Afternoon, all you hillbillies and hippies! Hope all yall are doing swell out there and over yonder…I’m barely hangin’ on from the after effects of hiking back and forth to stages for days and my last brain cell bing bonged all the way off Pine Mountain before I even left the Cove, BUT the show must go on and I’ll have a lot of content sprinkling down on the socials over the next couple weeks or so…

Also, that giveaway I teased will be coming up, too! I’m not professional photographer and never will claim to be, but every now and then I get some lucky shots. I heard repeated murmurs that Ritch Henderson’s creekside set was a major fan favorite of the entire Laurel Cove Music Festival, and it’s easy to see why with this 🔥 cover of Whiskeytown’s “16 Days.” Sharp as a tack, shug!

I grew up in the middle of nowhere in podunk Alabama, down in the foothills of Appalachia. A lot of my time was spent in the little river town of Wadley, and most of my best memories were made there. My PawPaw was the mayor for a spell after all—anyhow, I had the opportunity to sponsor the Wadley 4th-APALOOSA this year, and I hopped right on it. In addition to fireworks, food, shoppin’, and fun, there will be some dang good music—Dalton Jones headlines! If you’re in the area and need somethin to do on the 4th, go out and support ‘em. 🎆

If you love blues like this ‘ol Hippie, then the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum is the place to be this weekend! Nat Myers, Tee Dee Young, AND Donovan Howard?! Man ol man, that’s some good stuff. Get out there and support the Hall of Fame and these stellar musicians! We’re mighty lucky to have each of ‘em jammin’ and sangin’ the blues.

Hello! Help us spread the word on the 4th Annual Kentucky Blues Music Festival happening on June 6th at 6PM. This year features Tee Dee Young, Nat Myers, and Donovan Howard. It is FREE to attend & no tickets required. Just bring a chair or blanket. We will have food trucks to feed your stomach to go along with the music that feeds your soul.
