🎬❤️ McCrearyFest Weekend: Two GREAT Days of Community! ❤️🎬
Before anything else, we want to give a heartfelt thank-you to our McCrearyFest sponsors: McCreary County Fiscal Court, United Cumberland Bank, Highland Telephone Company, McCreary Tourism, McCreary County Chamber of Commerce, Outdoor Venture Corporation, and Cloud Medical Supply.
Your generosity is the reason we were able to offer approximately $15,000 worth of activities and entertainment for free to our community. You helped make it possible for families to spend the weekend together, enjoy something fun, and make memories without worrying about the cost. We are truly grateful for your belief in McCrearyFest and your support of our community. ❤️
The forecast looked rough, but by the grace of God, we were able to carry on with very little weather interference. What followed was a wonderful weekend full of people coming together, visiting, cheering, laughing, and enjoying our community.
Friday night kicked things off with Motors on Main Street and our Chili Cook-Off. We appreciate all the car enthusiasts who braved the weather and came out to show off their vehicles and enjoy the evening with us! We had eight chilis in the cook-off. Congratulations to our winners:

Our Friday night 50/50 winner Caleb Brown took home $100—congratulations!
We also had a winner in our McCrearyFest Mystery Search! Congratulations to Isaiah and Traci Perry, who generously donated their $50 prize to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. What a kind way to celebrate their win!
Triple Crown Wrestling brought the excitement to Main Street! The crowd got an action-packed show, plus a surprise appearance by one of the Redneck Brawl wrestlers. And what a special moment when Tavie Jones, Miss McCrearyFest, joined one of the wrestlers and got to walk around the ring! Young and old alike were cheering and having a great time. Thank you to everyone who came out and made Friday night such a memorable part of McCrearyFest!
Saturday was busy and packed with fun from start to finish. A big thank-you to all of our vendors who came out, set up, and helped make downtown a lively place to spend the day. We appreciate you being part of McCrearyFest and giving everyone a chance to shop, eat, and support local businesses.
🎶 Kenny Gilreath and Hoss Davis generously volunteered their time and musical talents to help make the day a success. They kept the crowd entertained and brought a great atmosphere downtown as everyone gathered ahead of the noon parade. We’re so thankful they were part of the day!
🎃 Thank you to all of our parade entries for joining in and helping make the parade special! Bolin Towing Company won our parade float contest with their “Nightmare Before Christmas” float. It was so good! They took home the $300 prize.
A special thank-you to Braxton King for letting us use Lord Gym’s for parade lineup, to Fred Patrick for providing sound for the singing and parade, and to the Kentucky State Highway Department for organizing the sweeper cleanup. We also want to thank the North McCreary Fire Department for helping with road closures and keeping the parade route safe.
🌭 David Dixon won the 2026 Hot Dog Eating Contest, eating 15 hot dogs in 8 minutes and 27 seconds—and he’d already eaten two before the contest! Our second-place contestant, last year’s runner-up, came in second again with 11 hot dogs, one more than he ate last year!
🎤 We had two talented participants take the stage for McCreary’s Got Talent. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!
🦎 The reptiles and petting zoo were a huge hit. Their crew told us they were amazed by how many people came out and said, “Wow, we didn’t realize McCreary County had so many people!” Our families sure showed up, and everyone loved them!
🎨 Painting with CortDesigns and face painting with Alien Art Facepainting were free and busy all day. C&C Inflatables were another big hit, giving everyone a fun place to play at no cost.
And to our volunteers Randy Davis, Barry Perry, Judge Greene, Josh Stephens, Clayton Worley, Sheila Spradlin, and Shayla Stephens—thank you for giving your time and hard work to make this weekend happen. McCrearyFest takes many hands, and we appreciate every one of you.
From Friday night through Saturday afternoon, McCrearyFest was a celebration of community, family, and making memories together. Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, volunteered, and supported us. We’re proud of what our community can do when we come together, and we’re so grateful for the memories we made this weekend. ❤️
