From vibrant tipis to confident cowgirls, our artists capture the strength and beauty of the west with vibrant colors and dynamic Montana skylines. Breathtaking landscapes have been a favorite of both Western and classical artists, so our visitors are not surprised to see red barns peeking from covered wagon prairies with a backdrop of stunning mountain peaks and dramatic thunderhead clouds. This
is Big Sky Country, and the artwork reflects that. The artists also exhibit an extensive floral collection including poppies, peonies, irises and pansies. Many of Nancy’s long-time collectors have requested that Nancy continue to paint her signature iris “portraits”, which are now available in two puzzle sizes. Some of the more popular subjects in their art include bison, as well as paintings and sculptures of bears, moose, owls, wolves, fox, sheep, goats, elk, deer, fish, horses, cows, mules, and even a rooster. Their inspiration is fueled by personal encounters with the wildlife and ranch animals surrounding them. Our contemporary Western artists provide an amazing scope of subject matter. Their work reflects places they have visited, from Italy to China and most places in between. They continue to master their craft. Our local artists live in such an inspirational environment with Glacier National Park only 30 minutes away from lush Flathead Valley and the majestic Flathead Lake.
