The Second Saturday of September is the date for the 20th Freshwater Folk Festival with a mighty fine lineup of activities at the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery in a beautiful location on East Main Street.

The Freshwater Folk Festival is but one part the action at the hatchery originating from the partnership between the Fish and Wildlife Service and the Friends of the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery.

What a time it will be at the hatchery during the winter solstice celebration on December 21 with people walking along the luminary trail, consuming the goodies, and enjoying the company of the other revelers around the bonfire in the amphitheater. The displays in the Visitors Center will also attract attention. T-shirts and hoodies with rainbow trout, crayfish, and freshwater mussel images will be for sale.
