Tonight at 7:30 pm: On an empty road in the middle of the night, Shula stumbles across the body of her uncle. As funeral proceedings begin around them, she and her cousins bring to light the buried secrets of their middle-class Zambian family, in filmmaker Rungano Nyoni’s surreal and vibrant reckoning with the lies we tell ourselves.

Organist David Rhodes and the Mighty Wurlitzer preshow concerts welcome attendees as they arrive. The organ lights up 30 minutes before the screening, so come early and enjoy the music!

A discussion will follow the film.

"Where did we fall in love with movies? At the movie theater. Watching a film in a theater with an audience is an experience. We can laugh together, cry together, scream in fright together, perhaps sit in devastated silence together... It's a communal experience you simply don't get at home."
