Susie gained a wide variety of experience and knowledge in the music world after receiving her undergraduate degree (writing, performing, teaching all ages and collaborating). Almost 10 years after receiving her undergraduate degree in music, Susie attended Colorado State University (CSU), and graduated with her Mater's Degree in Music Therapy. Following CSU, Susie completed a six month clinical training music therapy internship at Park Nicolette Hospital and the Struther's Parkinson Center in the Minneapolis area, where she gained experience in hospitals, and both assisted living and nursing homes with a variety of populations, including Parkinson's, cancer, traumatic brain injury, stroke, Alzheimer’s, comatose and terminally ill. She facilitated one-on-one, small, and large group music therapy interventions to enhance and improve cognition, create an outlet for emotional expression, promote relaxation, decrease pain and anxiety, increase communication skills and improve physical functioning and improve quality of life.
