Trunk-Or-Treat is back at The Green at 38th this Year!

Join us for a FREE twist on trick-or-treating! 🃏 36 years. Countless lessons. One incredible community.

For Sandy Koller, bridge has never been just a card game. For more than three decades, it’s been a way to teach, learn, build friendships, and create community.

This September, Sandy celebrates 36 years of teaching bridge through the local recreation system, which is a remarkable milestone filled with generations of students, handmade lesson materials, duplicate games, memorable tournaments, and friendships that have lasted far beyond the bridge table.

From an unexpected start in 1989 to becoming a beloved instructor at the Active Adult Center in Wheat Ridge, Sandy’s story is a wonderful reminder that sometimes the things we’re “talked into” doing can become some of the most meaningful parts of our lives. ❤️

🎉 We’re CAPRA Reaccredited!

We’re proud to announce that our Parks and Recreation Department has been reaccredited for another five years, passing 153 of 154 national standards, which is an incredible 99.35%!

With only 12 CAPRA-accredited agencies in Colorado and 223 nationwide, this is a tremendous accomplishment for our department and our entire City.

A huge thank you to Brandon Altenburg,Bryan Bl**er, Michelle Richardson, Sara Miller, Stephen Clyde, Danielle Moore, Beth June, Benny Paiz, Susie Anderson, and Karen O'Donnell for leading the documentation and coordination of all 154 standards, and to everyone across the City whose work contributed to this achievement!

We were also proud to have our Parks and Recreation Director and Deputy Director accept the reaccreditation recognition at the National Recreation and Park Association Conference in Philadelphia this week. During the opening session, a photo of The Green at 38th was featured on the big screen as NRPA’s President and CEO spoke about the impact of parks and recreation. With more than 6,000 parks and recreation professionals in attendance, it was an incredible moment to see our community represented on a national stage. 🌳

Congratulations to our entire team! This is an accomplishment we can all be proud of! Read the full article on our Fun Highlights at www.rootedinfun.com.
