Barking Water Music Festival Returns to Downtown Wewoka September 12
Free festival brings live music, food and family-friendly entertainment to the streets of Wewoka
WEWOKA, Okla. — The Barking Water Music Festival returns to downtown Wewoka on Saturday, September 12, beginning at 6 p.m. in front of the Seminole County Courthouse. Once again, the festival will bring an evening of free live music, food and entertainment to the community.
This year’s lineup features a mix of local favorites, returning performers and one of Oklahoma’s promising young Red Dirt/Blues artists.
The Shawp, a local group from the Wewoka area, will bring its own brand of classic rock and blues to the festival stage.
Legacy, a rock band with roots in the Wewoka area, returns as a festival favorite for its third appearance at Barking Water.
Shawna Russell and The Ranch Hands, the perennial hosts of the festival, will perform their signature Americana and country-rock show. Their set will showcase many of Shawna Russell’s original songs along with a selection of rock and country favorites.
Headlining this year’s festival is Connor Helm, a 19-year-old Red Dirt, Blues and Americana artist from Perkins, Oklahoma. Helm has found his musical groove early in his career and will bring a full band — including a horn section — to the streets of Wewoka for a high-energy performance to close out the evening.
In addition to a full night of live music, food trucks and craft booths will be available throughout the festival.
Festival organizers Teresa Smart and Tim Russell are excited to once again welcome the community and visitors to downtown Wewoka for an evening featuring some of the area’s finest music, food and fun.
Best of all, there is no admission to the concert.
Bring your own lawn chair, find a spot in front of the Seminole County Courthouse and get ready for a great night of music under the stars.
