The Downtown Artists are devastated at the passing of our group’s founder and leader, Don Sawyer, who has been a driving force in helping to establish Wetumpka as the “Art Town” that it has become. He passed away today after an acute gallbladder rupture, which resulted in sepsis. We are all stunned and saddened that we will no longer have his wisdom, wry smile, dry humor and crankiness to keep us on our toes. He was the best and will be sorely missed. Our prayers go to Claire Cowles Sawyer and his entire family. ♥️🙏🏻
