Music for Youth 🎶 Fostering the love and knowledge of classical and world music by students of all ages

Music for Youth was the creation of Marianne Liberatore and a few individuals with the goal and passion of bringing classical music, professionally performed, into the lives of young people in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Their goal was and is “to foster the love and knowledge of classical music in young people,” and with their zeal and commitment it became the mission of Music for Youth. This m

ission is realized each season with a series of FREE Young Persons’ Concerts, a School Residency program, and an annual Scholarship. Music for Youth was incorporated in 2002 as a not-for-profit organization. Run largely by volunteers with professional training and careers in music and the arts, they are devoted to implementing the mission of the organization. Current Executive Program Director, Misty Beyer, states: "Our Board is dedicated to keeping Music for Youth alive now and in the future. We firmly believe that classical music can be a transformative element in the growth of every young person, and that helping create the next generation of performers and audiences is of the utmost importance to society."

Two weeks ago, NYS, in partnership with Music for Youth, had the pleasure of welcoming Daniel Pettrow, director, actor, and teacher, to lead an Audition Prep Workshop for our students.

Students left with practical tools and renewed confidence. As NYS student Spencer shared, “My favorite tip was to not stress about things that are out of your control and how to categorize something as out of your control."

Thank you, Daniel, for empowering our students with skills they’ll carry far beyond the audition room!
