One of the great benefits of working in the piano industry isn’t just the instruments we get to work with — it’s the people we meet, the good spirits we share, and the connections we make along the way.

One of my latest finds is Tyler, owner of Westchester Pianos. Tyler has carved out a really unique niche: finding exceptionally well-cared-for, gently used premium pianos for buyers who want something special without necessarily buying new.

That’s a niche I really appreciate, because it’s quite different from what I do at Amadeus Piano Co., where my focus is on intricate restoration, preservation, and curating exceptional instruments. There’s very little competition between us — if anything, we complement each other.

And Tyler’s latest find is something truly special.

A one-year-old Hamburg Steinway upright.

These instruments are extraordinarily rare to encounter in essentially new condition, and this one is a spectacular example of what Steinway’s Hamburg factory is capable of producing. The craftsmanship, materials, touch, tone, and overall presence are simply on another level.

It’s always exciting to see an exceptional piano find its way into the hands of someone who understands exactly what makes it special.

This vintage Baldwin has more heart than a new Steinway and that’s just the simple truth of the fact of the matter at hand. New pianos are disposable crap and these vintage beauties stood the test of time and hold tuning better and stronger than anything.

comes with a bench, this vintage piano has once been refinished to a high gloss – wet-looking shiny finish. Is not perfect with a couple dings but definitely looks presentable and sounds terrific.
