Ever wonder what happens to Players costumes after a show? Sometimes we are lucky enough to sell them to another school doing the same show, but more often they are put into storage, carefully organized by our fabulous Costume Crew!

The Costume Closet just got an organizational overhaul this week, thanks to the collaboration of the Sets and Costumes Crews! Check out the fabulous new storage system that sets built for the space. Thanks to both crews for putting in the etra effort!

Players had our first "Clean Up" day of the year as we got our work spaces ready to start production on "Bye Bye Birdie." All Staples students interested in Players are welcome to join in the fun -- our next and final clean up day is this Monday, 8/24!

School hasn't even started yet and already we are at work prepping for "Bye Bye Birdie"!

Here, Players Stage Manager, senior Theo Rowen, teams up with Players Set Designer, Jordan Janota, to build a scale model of the "Bye Bye Birdie" set. We can't wait to see the finished product!

Casting Opportunity: Randolph MacAfee

Staples Players — Bye Bye Birdie, November 13-15 and 19-22, 2026

Staples Players is looking for a talented young performer to play Randolph MacAfee in our upcoming production of Bye Bye Birdie at Staples High School!

Randolph is Kim MacAfee’s younger brother—a bright, energetic, and delightfully mischievous character who brings plenty of humor and personality to the show. Prior experience is not necessary -- but plenty of personality is!

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking male performers ages 8–12 who are:
-Energetic, expressive, and confident performers
-Available for performances November 13-15 and 19-22, 2026
-Available for rehearsals after school September - November, exact schedule TBD
-Collaborative and enthusiastic about being a part of the Staples Players community

How to Audition:
-Interested performers will submit a video audition (please note: video auditions are not yet open for submission)
-Fill out an audition form found here (link in comments)
