“Ned was not sure what to make of Renly, with all his friendly ways and easy smiles. A few days past, he had taken Ned aside to show him an exquisite rose gold locket. Inside was a miniature painted in the vivid Myrish style, of a lovely young girl with doe’s eyes and a cascade of soft brown hair. Renly had seemed anxious to know if the girl reminded him of anyone, and when Ned had no answer, he seemed disappointed. The maid was Loras Tyrell’s sister, Margaery, he’d confessed, but there were those who said she looked like Lyanna.”
~ an excerpt from Chapter 27 of A Song of Ice and Fire
I’ve been having loads of fun in photoshop the past two days. Swipe to see how the dress I wore for this Margaety Tyrell cosplay originally looked on prom night. 😅

Dry Banana Hippy Hat, Elsa!
The just the opposite of Queen Anna, who’s birthday is on the summer solstice, the winter solstice is Elsa’s birthday.
I know these two are playing family games, eating lots of chocolate, and of course they’ll be soup, roast, and ice cream.

Gotta love a good detail shot of a fluke in the water. I think the striping on Tiger Shark is so interesting because of the dark edges some stripes have. It gives it such a dynamic look!

As promised, my closet cosplay of Margaery Tyrell from A Game of Thrones. This was such a fun project to spend a weekend on. Thank you so much to everyone who submitted suggestions for cosplays to my Instagram story yesterday! I was beyond inspired by the list. This one got to you so quickly thanks to photoshop and my old prom dress.

This might be my favorite of the bunch.
I spent this easy Sunday working on a closet Game of Thrones cosplay. I forgot how powerful a floor length gown feels.

This is the face of a mermaid who’s way too excited for this year to wrap up. These last few weeks at work have been serious crunch time. Now until the end of the year, I get to focus on the holidays and being a bridesmaid (bride’s MER maid!) for my dear friend, ’s virtual wedding. It feels so good to be closing out this year by celebrating the connections and people who’ve pushed through it with me.

In the winter, and especially around New Years Eve, I pour a lot of personal energy into reflecting on my choices and imagining what I’d like life to be like come this time next year. In reflecting on 2020, I found an abundance to be grateful for— that will be its own post. What I’m most excited about today is all the ways I found to support myself and my art better as I move further away from the restrictions placed on me by Disney and closer to my own personal performing adventures. A lot of down time in 2020 has allowed me to try new mediums and return to old ones that I’ve left unexplored for a few years.
What can you expect from the Alchemist in 2021?
🦈 Tiger Shark Content - (All pools are closed for COVID in the area. This will continue to be delayed for warmer weather or the vaccine)
📸 Updated Gear - All new camera and underwater rig equipment set to make even higher quality swimming content. This has been a big priority to upgrade this year!
🌎 New Locations - bored of seeing every mermaid you know trapped in the same 3 Florida Spring swimming holes? ME TOO. I’ve spent the last few months taking hikes and recording the absolute best of PNW’s glacier carved lakes, rivers, and coastal swimming holes. I genuinely cannot wait to share these magic places with you all.
🤩 Surprise Sightings - Look out for the Alchemist appearing in some surprising venues in 2021. New location means new collaborations!
👑 Cosplays - The rules have gone out the castle window. Now that the Alchemist is set to say goodbye to their very favorite royal friends on December 31, 2020, they can cosplay whomever the heck they want. Look out for Ariel swimming back past your timeline. Serious, high quality ,park-disapproved cosplays are coming your way, starting with How Much I Am Going To Miss Her™
🤿 Land Projects- Due to Covid and cold, the Alchemist has turned to looking for ways to engage with mermaiding from shore. Suffice for now to say that they’ll be spending the rest of this winter season indoors, but busily crafting the next great debut for this feed.
I want to take a moment and thank everyone who’s supported me and followed along with my path .

The other day I look my s/o out for a scavenger hunt around the city to celebrate our anniversary but I forgot I don’t live in Florida anymore and dead ass planned for it to end in a picnic in the woods in 37 degree weather. With the right coats, it ended up being magical despite the literal frost on the ground in the forest. That day was so precious. It got me thinking about the mermaid shoots I have planned and how many of them I’ve put off for the sake of one detail or another. I think if this experience taught me anything, it’s to do it anyway, whatever “it” is. Even if one detail is off, even if it’s glaring, do it anyway. It may not end up the way you expected.
