When it's Late in the Evening ... we like to hear a little Simon and Garfunkel. How 'bout chu?
This clip is from a June 2022 jam session, and we thought you'd like to hear it again -- it's already one of our Duke's Garage "Greatest Hits."
Featuring the Duke's Garage Band:
✨ Scott Martin on keyboard and vocals
✨ Bill McCrossen on bass
✨ Ed Breazeale on drums
✨ Mike Holt on acoustic guitar and vocals
With special guests:
✨ Dave Corbus, electric guitar
✨ Anja Brokaw, vocalist
Paul Simon first released "Late in the Evening" on his solo album 'One-Trick Pony' in 1980. According to Songfacts.com, "When Simon & Garfunkel played a free concert in New York's Central Park on September 19, 1981, the throngs of fans kept cheering, even after the encore. To appease them, the duo returned to the stage and reprised "Late in the Evening," which they had played earlier in the show."
Good call. We can't get enough of that rhythmic salsa beat, either! (Special shout-out to Ed—he's really sticking that groove!)
