Meet this alien like snake. He’s a scaleless Everglades Rat Snake (Pantherophis alleghaniensis rossalleni).
Scalelessness is a recessive genetic mutation that removes most or all of their scales.
It is rare but it does occur naturally in the wild. It was first documented 1942 when the first scaleless Western garter snake was captured.
