Dancing With Our Future Stars is a fully funded dance program for students in the 4th and 5th graders and middle school in the Ventura and Los Angeles areas. The program would cover 12 weeks of dance education and performance. At the end of the semester, every child will be entitle to be in a final performance regardless of skill level achieved. As these would be mixed gender classes, students wil

l not only learn a number of dance forms, but also learn about individual respect and proper social interaction. The program will be energetic and qualify not only as a component of arts education but also as a part of the physical education program by focusing on active dances such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia and others. The Program “Dancing with our Future Stars” has been developed by Dancing with our Future Stars Company, a non-profit organization led by Ms. The instructors are either professional dance instructors or college advanced –level dance students selected by Ms. The program would be funded by the Powell Family Foundation through the school district.
