Ready to take your crochet skills to the next level? Join us at Westfield Makerspace for a fun, four-part workshop where you'll create your very own cozy, handmade cardigan!
Perfect for those who already know the basics of crochet, this class will guide you through creating a beautiful, made-to-measure hexagon cardigan. You'll learn how to shape and assemble your cardigan, add pockets, and finish your project with confidence.
What you'll learn:
▪️Creating magic circles and standing double crochets
▪️Making and sizing your cardigan to fit YOU
▪️Shaping, assembling, and adding pockets
▪️Finishing techniques for a polished look
Class Details:
▪️Wednesdays: October 7, October 21, November 4 & November 11
▪️6:00–7:30 PM
▪️Westfield Makerspace
Skill Level: Beginner with basic crochet experience
Cost: $60 for all four sessions
Limit 7 people per session
Please bring a 7 or 8 mm crochet hook and worsted (4 weight) yarn in your choice of 1, 2, or 3 colors. Yarn requirements will vary depending on your desired cardigan size but will be from XS = 1010 yds to 4XL = 2750 yds.
Come learn something new, meet fellow makers, and leave with a one-of-a-kind cardigan made by YOU!

Want to learn crochet? This beginner-friendly class is designed for adults who want to start from the very beginning and build confidence one stitch at a time. No experience necessary, just bring your curiosity and creativity!
In this hands-on class you will learn:
▪️How to comfortably hold your hook and yarn
▪️How to make a slip know and chain stitch
▪️The essential beginner stitches: single crochet, half-double crochet, and double crochet.
▪️How to read simple patterns and understand common crochet terms
▪️Tips for keeping your tension even and your stitches neat
Over three classes you will received personalized guidance and plenty of time to practice at your own pace. By the end of the three-class session you will feel confident tackling beginner projects like dishcloths, scarves, or simple hats.

Starting October 1, we’re introducing Open Play at Westfield Makerspace!

For just $5 per child, per day, come spend some creative time together with the day’s activity. All supplies are included!

▪️ Tuesday – Painting
Paint tiny planters, rocks, wooden hearts, and more, with different items available each week.

▪️ Wednesday – STEM
Explore building, experimenting, and problem-solving with a different theme each week, like LEGO creations, paper airplanes, or popsicle stick bridges.

▪️ Thursday – Drawing
Let their imagination lead the way with colored pencils, crayons, paper, stickers, ribbon, and more.

▪️ Friday – Crafts
Try a different guided craft each week and take home something they made themselves.

Stop by Tuesday–Friday, anytime from 12 pm–5 pm!
