Established in 2010, the mission of The Westfield Theatre Guild is to raise funds and support theater related activities for theater students in Westfield, New Jersey. Our primary goal is to raise funds to ensure that our drama departments continue their long-standing tradition of producing high quality entertainment with plays, musicals and non-audition performance opportunities. eatre Guilds' primary focus is to raise funds and promote awareness by encouraging parent, student and community participation and interest, in all theater related activities, within our district. This includes Westfield High School as well as Edison and Roosevelt Intermediate Schools. Funds raised help underwrite the cost of items including lighting, sound, costumes, scenery, and music. Since its inception, and through the generosity of the community, The Westfield Theatre Guild has donated to the Westfield Board of Education for the purchase of lights, microphones, receivers, transmitters and sound cards. The new equipment was put to use immediately to the lighting and sound quality for drama and musical productions, and is used throughout the year for arts presentations on the WHS stage. In addition, we support the Westfield High School International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe with their events and activities which include a Welcome Back Event in the fall and MayHem in the spring. Mayhem, which premiered in 2013, is a non-auditioned, all-inclusive variety show that includes WHS students, both as performers and behind-the-scenes support, showcasing their talents in a non-competitive, fun-filled production.
