What does America sound like?

Antonín Dvořák sought to answer that question in his monumental Symphony No. 9, “From the New World.” Composed during his time in the United States, the work blends the grandeur of the European symphonic tradition with musical influences he encountered in America, resulting in some of the most unforgettable melodies in the classical repertoire.
