The past few weeks we have had a flurry of activity at LSCFTA preparing for our fourth annual Juice Box Organic International One Act Competition. The top scoring five comedies and dramas Were performed this past weekend culminating in the top three in each category. The audience voted on their favorites each night. Much laughter and tears filled the air over four nights of production.
The highest scoring plays were announced as the curtains were closing.
Comedies:

#2 Starship Stageplay – Austin Stienmetz
#3 How Nice of You to Ask – Rich Rubin
Dramas:
#1 The Brooch - Lawson Caldwell
#2 Diary of Maria – Dave Huber

This Thursday, June 18th @ 7:30PM, join us at Lake Shore Center for the Arts for our Songwriters Circle Series featuring Justin Williams (WNY), Tommy Link (Erie, PA), and all the way from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Julie Derrick. The Songwriters Circle Series is sponsored by Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.

WRFA and Lake Shore Center for the Arts are feeling generous this month and want to give one of our followers two tickets to the June edition of the Songwriters Circle Series going on Thursday June 18th!

Announcing our Literary Contest 2026

Send your short story, essay, or poem for consideration. First, second and third place prizes for top scoring entries. Winners and honorable mentions will be published in our annual Sort Story Contest Anthology.
Guidelines:
Fiction or nonfiction stories, or personal essays up to 5,000 words; Poems may be submitted up to 3, not to exceed 6 pages.
Submission must be your original writing, not previously published as defined by appearing in another anthology or book. Simultaneous submissions accepted, but request that you notify us if your submission is accepted elsewhere.
Prizes:
First Place $250.00
Second Place $100.00
Third Place $50.00
All entries will be judged anonymously.
Open for submissions June 1, 2026, deadline is August 30, 2026.
