Hi, it’s Angela Tong. I hope you all are staying safe and healthy. I miss our meetups and I hope to see what everyone has made during our stay at home time when we can meet up again.

All of my teaching events were canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic but I am excited to announce that I am teaching online at the first Virtual Vogue Knitting Live, May 11-18! These are live classes from my house to your house. I will be teaching 3 classes: Afterthought Thumbs with Intention, Monsoon Shawl Class, and Crochet a Granny Triangle. We had such a fun time last night at Art Chick Designs, LLC in Westfield. Thank you to Danielle Dickinson Corso for hosting the meetup. We ate delicious snacks, laughed a lot and shared our projects.

Is anyone going to Vogue Knitting Live in NYC this week? I will be teaching there. If you have time in between classes, everyone is welcome to attend the Diversity & Inclusion Panel on Friday 12:30-2pm. I will be there speaking along with my fellow members of Vogue Knitting Diversity Advisory Council.

Yesterday we had another great Westfield Knit & Crochet Meetup. It was wonderful meeting more local knitters and crocheters. There is so much talent in this community.

Thank you to Farinolio for hosting us. Their community table was perfect for our meetup. We had delicious Italian pastries, coffee and got to know each other. Some of us even have kids that go to the same school but we didn’t know each other. Community building is one of my goals for this group and I am excited to see this continue to grow.

Our next Knit & Crochet Meetup will be on Oct 2, Wednesday. We are meeting at 10am at Farinolio, 121 E Broad St, Westfield NJ.

Bring your knitting or crochet project and join us for a relaxing morning of stitching, chatting and delicious food. (Reminder: this is a social gathering to get together to knit and crochet. This is not a class. But I am a certified instructor and I can give you tips and help if you need it.)

Thank you to everyone for coming to our first Knit & Crochet Meetup. I had a lot of fun meeting new people. We chatted about everything from life, family, and yarn to patterns. We closed the place down at 9pm! It was a great night.

ChiWei and I have confirmed a date and time for our first meetup! We will be meeting this Friday Sept 20, at Boxwood Coffee Roasters 143 E Broad St, Westfield. We will meet at 6:30pm but come when convenient. Please join us. All levels are welcome. It’s informal. Bring your knit and crochet projects or just come to chat and drink coffee.
