Good vibes, familiar faces, and some unexpected cosmic connections at Yellow Springs Street Fair 💛

One of my favorite things about taking this show on the road is finally getting to meet people who’ve been collecting my work for years but have never met me in person. I got to put so many faces to names yesterday, meet some really wonderful fellow makers, and even connect with family I’d never met before. 🥹

And, as always, I came home with some excellent quotes for the collection.

Yellow Springs: Thanks for the laughs, the conversations, and for bringing my work into your homes. Even a little rain couldn’t ruin a pretty great day.

Next up on the tour: handmade toledo on 11/14. I hope the folks in Toledo have some interesting things to say. 😉

Recently Meta (Facebook, Instagram, etc) made some changes that won't allow us to include non-Meta links in our posts unless we pay an extraordinary amount of money. The pricing tier that would allow to create our usual Meet the Makers posts for holiday would cost $499 per month. That is simply not....

Somewhere, the kid in that first photo is absolutely freaking out. 🥹

I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember, but I don’t think I ever imagined just how much creativity would shape my life — or how many unexpected places it would take me.

Being an artist can be a strange path. There are seasons where everything is growing, seasons where you need to step away, and seasons where you decide to try again. Having someone invest in you during that last one means more than I can really put into words.

Thank you Greater Columbus Arts Council for supporting artists in Columbus and for giving me another reason to keep going. I’m excited to see what I make next. 💜

Proud to say that Ice & Dust Pottery is supported by a grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Market days are basically 8 hours of people accidentally doing stand-up comedy in my booth.

A few of my favorite overheard reviews from Hops on High ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Columbus, please never change.

Meet my newest straw tumblers: She’s beauty. She’s grace. She’s gripping your iced coffee with the cold, dead hands of the grave. A cup that will hold your drink for you… into eternity. 💀

Also available in 🩷💛💚. Reusable glass straw included.

I’ve been putting mountains on mugs for years. It was time to give them somewhere new to go. 🏔️

One thing I wanted to make room for during my sabbatical was R&D. Not just five weeks of producing more of what I already make, but enough time to follow some ideas and see which ones were worth keeping.

These were definitely worth keeping. If you follow my stories, you’ve watched these come to life over the past few weeks. I brought the tumblers to my show yesterday and it confirmed what I was already hoping: They’re staying!

Both forms currently come in Sapphire, Shamrock, Sugarplum + Sangria Red, with all the drippy, layered glaze variation that makes Misty Mountains one of my favorite things to make. Every landscape comes out a little different.

They’re live on the website, with very small quantities of each color. And if they don’t sell out online, I’ll bring what’s left to Hops on High on October 3 in the Short North Arts District.

Now I’m already thinking about what else needs mountains. 👀
