Virtu Art Festival is a time honored tradition in Westerly, RI. Incredible works of art are available for sale from some of our country's most talented artists and craftsmen. Oil paintings, watercolors, pen and ink drawings, pottery, stained and blown glass, hand made furniture, jewelry, painted silk scarves, wind chimes, garden ornaments and so much more are available. A wide variety of live ente
rtainment takes place all weekend including music by Serge Novikov, Yarina, and Bethany McGill. Christian Peterson, a bagpiper, strolls the event in his Scottish attire. A free Creation Station area of the event, sponsored by Geraldine Cunningham Associates, allows children to make-it and take-it. The Mural of America project will be stopping in Westerly so that community members can participate in a paint-by-number art piece that depicts a Rhode Island scene. A unique Kaleidoscope Tree exhibit will take place with the creative hand knit works of more than 25 artists who have "yarn bombed" 20 trees.
