Big news!! Everyone loves downtown Westerly and our phones have been ringing off the hook these past few weeks! So Allora is now going on the road with Allora Platinum Events to allow for someone new to move in full time. Our landlord is amazing and anyone would be lucky to work with him! So what does that mean for us?? It means I'm destined for more and in the process I've been able to bless as many people along the way which makes my heart so incredibly happy. Allora was a project I made with my dad and about a week before he died he asked me if I were to do it all again, would I do anything different? (I was laying on the couch watching TV at the time and without missing a beat, I replied) "Yeah, Everything.. Because now I actually know what I'm doing.. Before I had no idea what I didn't know and I was learning along the way." He paused and said, "Good, I just wanted to make sure you learned something." Then walked away. So in these last couple days as I pull apart my business in a way I see fit, I feel so light and overjoyed that this project was everything I needed and I still get to bring joy and laughter to others!
Allora lives on with our theatre curtains and chairs going to The Granite Theatre (Go see their production of the Last Night of Ballyhoo..I saw it opening last night and it's halarious with solid acting from the entire cast. Www.GraniteTheatre.com) Our whole kitchen went to Joesph Earl of Thyme Blossom...seriously he is the best person in the world with a heart in theatre and arts and I can't think of a more deserving home..check out what he's making and get to know him because he's going places! Next, all my lights sound and production equipment went to Adam Brandt Lighting Design so we can still produce shows. And lastly, I'm keeping my espresso machine for myself because life is too short to drink bad coffee! Luckily you can now order Richard Alan Specialty Coffees online for home delivery at www.richardalancoffee.com
So as is the life of a theatre college kid who still works on touring Broadway productions at the Garde Arts Center. One show closes and another opens. With Allora I had the chance to design, make a business from the ground up and load in. Now all I'm doing is striking my set and doing the load out because there's always another stop on the tour!
