Art Students Explore the Nordics in a Once-in-a-Lifetime Trip!
Eight deserving students and two chaperones recently returned from a memorable 13-day art trip to Sweden, with a stopover in Iceland, generously sponsored by Rebecca’s Fund (RF) in support of Art for Children of the Wet Mountain Valley.
Highlights included Iceland’s waterfalls and hot springs, tours of Stockholm’s premier museums (National Museum, Vasa Museum, Viking Museum, and Drottningholm Palace), sketching in the beautiful Stockholm archipelago, a glass-blowing workshop in Glasriket, and a day of sightseeing and recreation in Gothenburg.
As Rebecca’s Fund’s first international art trip, it received excellent feedback from participants, and plans for future trips are underway. Most students were already engaged in RF’s local art programs, field trips, and school classes supported with hosted visiting artists and art supplies.
