HIGH MOUNTAIN HAY FEVER BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL The 2016 High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival was a great success with 4,130 fans attending over the four days.

The High Mountain Hay Fever Festival Association is a non-profit organization run by an incredible group of volunteers working year round to produce a great bluegrass music festival in Westcliffe, CO. Bluegrass music will echo across the Wet Mountain Valley on the edge of Westcliffe, Colorado at the thirteenth annual High Mountain Hay Fever Bluegrass Festival July 6-9, 2017 in the heart of the Roc

ky Mountains. The setting and music were inspiring, including performances by the Claire Lynch Band, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, Adkins and Loudermilk, Keith Little and the LittleBand and many other top-notch bluegrass performers. Past festivals have featured the likes of Seldom Scene, Lou Reed and Carolina, Bobby Osbourne, Laurie Lewis, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, John Reischman and the Jaybirds, Red Molly and many more fabulous performers. Our festival co-hosts the inimitable Dry Branch Fire Squad and the Sons and Brothers Band’s high-energy harmonies. Many of our performers will also conduct workshops throughout the weekend, which will afford festival-goers the opportunity to experience the performers in a more intimate setting. Also in the workshop schedule is the popular children’s program (two workshop sessions plus a main stage performance) and the new festival tradition: square dancing.

The Blue Canyon Boys are equal parts purists and innovators when it comes to Bluegrass: they stay true to the form’s roots while constantly reimagining their relationship to tradition. The result is a toe-tapping mix of haunting standards, genre-bending arrangements, and catchy original numbers—all built on the bedrock of their collective bluegrass mastery.

Ever since founding members Jason Hicks and Gary Dark launched the Blue Canyon Boys in 2006, the Blue Canyon Boys have raised the bar for bluegrass bands. They bring it all: seamless brother-duet style, crisp instrumentation, unvarnished lyrics and subversive humor. After winning first place 2008 Telluride Bluegrass festival band contest, the Blue Canyon Boys went off at full tilt, taking the bluegrass circuit by storm, performing in illustrious venues across the country as well as internationally.
