During the 9 years, Gershwin Competition opened career pathways to numerous young talents, many of whom sustain active performing careers. The long list includes internationally acclaimed pianists Anastasia Rizikov (Canada) and Ivan Gusev (Russia/USA), violinist Nune Melikian (who in 2018 debuted at Carnegie's Stern Auditorium with Orchestra of St. Luke), Florida Opera theater soprano Mariya Kaganskaya, and saxophone virtuoso, Matvey Sherling. The 5th Jubilee Edition of the Gershwin International Music Competition presents over 400 applicants from 45 countries and 27 US States. Several of the candidates will be admitted to the competition Semifinal Round, which takes place in New York City in June 2022.
