Hi Dizzy here! We haven't put out a new blog post since the end of November, but it's time to remedy that! We've got some BIG updates!
For those of you new here, since December of 2024 we have averaged at least two events per month either at our home venue in the Centreville Mill (W. Warwick) or at another partnered venue in Providence (We are PVD based!). We have done drag shows, music, markets, variety shows, clothing swaps and more in that time while operating in tandem with our good friends at Advanced Action Sports. We work to give low stakes high support opportunities to first time producers, hosts, kittens, directors, and give people the chance to do the things they lie in bed thinking about doing.
Now, as Summer takes over, we've taken a huge step.
Fourth Wall is evolving. We are now a registered business, complete with a fancy LLC and business bank account and everything, and the reason for that is :
We are getting a full time venue for the remainder of the Summer! The airsoft arena that has hosted us this last year and a half is becoming ours to do with as we please, with all the opportunity and responsibility that comes with it, and our goal is to develop further physical community arts spaces once the summer is over, but for now, it means work.
This means a rather dramatic change in our business model.
Our team has been hard at work figuring out the logistics of the takeover, ensuring we will have climate control and reliable accessibility, etc: ( meeting notes are public and available upon request!) - and we have all too short a timeline to make things happen. This is a multi-headed challenge, and we need all the help we can get.
Until now, we've operated off of personal finance and donations and aimed to do everything we can with a budget of none, however this summer's start up expenses will likely be the most expensive part of the foreseeable Fourth Wall future. If you know any companies who would like to sponsor our summer season to offset costs, please have them get in touch!
A flurry of events and adventures are going to be scheduled and announced in the near future: June is a hard time to find dates with less events happening, and so we are spending much of June on development -- but keep your eyes peeled for some wild adventures coming up.
