We are ridiculously excited to announce that Grillfest is partnering with Echelon Tattoo for a special collection of Grillfest-inspired flash tattoos!

Medieval beasts. Dragons. Swords. Flails. Armor. Weird little creatures. And, naturally, a jester cat! 🐈

Echelon’s artists have put together an absolutely KILLER assortment of exclusive flash for Grillfest weekend, with special event pricing.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

Ashley and Jess will be taking walk-ins at Echelon Tattoo for their Grillfest flash. If they can’t get to everyone during that window, appointments can be scheduled.

A crew of Echelon artists will be taking walk-ups for Grillfest flash tattoos DURING THE FESTIVAL! Check out the flash sheets in this post, and follow/tag Echelon Tattoo for artist details and any additions to the lineup.

⚔️ CAN’T GET TATTOOED THAT DAY? NO PROBLEM.
During Friday and Saturday, you can claim the special Grillfest pricing and book your tattoo for another date. Stop by Echelon or use the booking link in their Instagram bio.

Important: The special pricing is only available for bookings and inquiries made Friday or Saturday, so if something in these sheets is calling your name, claim it during Grillfest weekend.

From noon to 10:30 PM, Grillfest takes over Midvale Main Street and The Pearl on Main with:

We've deliberately built Lunch and Dinner into the schedule too. So grab some food, hit the vendors, find your friends (and make some new ones), then get back in there!!

Nine knights. Nine bands. One champion.

At Grillfest 2026, September 12, knights of the will enter a one-hour, single-elimination BUHURT TOURNAMENT — full-contact medieval combat fought in real armor with real steel.

BUT... Every knight enters the tournament fighting for more than just himself.

Each warrior will serve as the CHAMPION of a band performing at Grillfest.

Each champion will enter wearing his own colors and coat of arms.

Then... the bracket decides their fate.

Your favorite band could be eliminated in the opening round. Rivals could meet in the semifinals. And by the end of the hour, only ONE champion — and ONE band — will remain standing!!

This is GRILLFEST BLOODSPORT.

Warhammer taught me the value of losing...

For over a year, I struggled with a low-tier Warhammer 40k army. Losing taught me resilience and strategy. And when I finally switched to a stronger faction, the wins came pouring in!

A correction and an apology regarding one of our Grillfest 2026 ads:

I accidentally advertised that Danhausen would be appearing at Grillfest 2026. Danhausen is NOT appearing at Grillfest 2026.

Here's what happened:

A while back, I photographed and shot video at a Lucha Project event where Danhausen was on the bill. At the time, I was (and very much still am) learning how the professional wrestling world works. I incorrectly assumed that because a wrestler appeared at a Lucha Project event, that meant they were part of The Lucha Project's roster.

Fast-forward to this week: while putting together Meta ads for Grillfest, I was looking through wrestling footage and came across “that cool, kinda black-metal-looking Lucha Project wrestler who was nice to my son.” So I used an image of him in the ad, not realizing that (a) my assumption about his affiliation with The Lucha Project was wrong, and (b) Danhausen has since become famous and joined the WWE!

So, in short, I plucked a whole bouquet of oopsie daisies.

Adan Monreal, who heads The Lucha Project, brought the mistake to my attention today, and I took the ad down as soon as I could. It ran from approximately midnight until around 3 PM today.

I sincerely apologize to Danhausen, The Lucha Project, and anyone who saw the ad and was given the impression that Danhausen would be appearing at Grillfest. There was no intention to mislead anyone, but regardless of intent, the advertisement was incorrect and that's on me.

Producing Grillfest has required me to learn the ins and outs of several worlds beyond the one I came from, and professional wrestling is one of them. This was a useful (and really embarrassing) lesson about how talent bookings, promotions, and affiliations work. I'll be much more careful about verifying those things before using someone's likeness in Grillfest advertising moving forward.

The Lucha Project will absolutely be at Grillfest on September 12, and we're incredibly excited to have them. Danhausen, however, will not!

What's YOUR technique to achieve the perfect steak?

For this big-ass ribeye I....
1️⃣ Pat dry and seasoned generouslu with salt & pepper
2️⃣ Get my cast iron skillet SCREAMING hot
3️⃣ Sear each steak side for 2.5 minutes
4️⃣ Add a buttload of butter, garlic, and rosemary. Baste for 1.5 minutes
5️⃣ Pull the steak at 125°
6️⃣ LET IT REST! 😴
7️⃣ Nom nom nom nom
