Thanks to our incredible community of supporters, friends and champions, PASSAGE was a tremendous success! Kickwheel is so proud to have created and presented a brand new, entirely original production right here in downtown Pittsfield. We had great press, sold-out performances and some incredible conversations with all of you.

Over 350 humans contributed to PASSAGE being brought to life. Whether you attended a performance, housed an artist, supported our campaign, chatted with us at the Farmer’s Market or after a show, volunteered at our load-in or donated a gift to our silent auction we couldn’t have done this without the support of our incredible community of audiences, patrons and collaborators.
And, thanks to each of YOU, we have officially surpassed our 2016 fundraising goal with over 100 donors!

THANKS TO OUR SUPPORTERS

We continue to receive fabulous feedback for Passage! And we literally couldn't have done it without Kickwheel core member, producer, and sound designer Peter Wise!

Peter grew up playing music in the Berkshires and studied percussion at SUNY Stony Brook and the Eastman School of Music, where he received the school’s first certificate in World Music. He has played with an eclectic array of musical ensembles and bands including Newspeak, Forever House, JG Thirlwell’s Maxorexia and Bobby Previte's VooDoo Orchestra. He has also toured as a percussionist with several innovative stage productions including Jason Craig and Dave Malloy's Beowulf: A Thousand Years of Baggage and David T. Little's opera Dog Days. As sound designer for stage, credits include:Five Flights (Mixed Company), The Scissor Tango Variations (Bard College at Simon’s Rock), The Waypoint (Mass MoCA) and the world premiere of DARK: An End of the World Play with Music and an Exercise Bike, which he composed alongside playwright/lyricist Timothy Ryan Olson. Peter is a founder and co-artistic director of Bazaar Productions (Kickwheel Ensemble Theater/The Berkshire Fringe) and also owns and operates Square Candy Design, a boutique website design and development studio.

Kickwheel is so incredibly grateful to our whole team, our amazingly generous donors, Shire City Sanctuary, and the entire community for an incredible run of Passage! We didn't quite get through all of our "meet the team" posts, and don't want to leave anyone out, so we will continue posting a few of them this week.

Meet Passage stage manager Kathleen Sansone. We are SO grateful to her for all of her hard work on Passage!

Kathleen says: I make theater because it's how I can make a difference. In a world clouded by violence and hate, I have organizational skills and a mild obsession with Microsoft Excel - which hardly feels helpful in the grand scheme of things. Theater allows me to contribute these skills to a group of humans who want to fill the world with knowledge and love.

Kathleen Sansone a stage manager and arts administrator, is making her Kickwheel Ensemble Theater debut with PASSAGE. She is a recent graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a BA in Arts Management. Past MCLA credits include “Noises Off” and “Dog Sees God” (dir. Sara Katzoff), “Romeo & Juliet”, “Angels in America”, “Spring Awakening” and more. She has also interned for MASS MoCA and Barrington Stage Company. In the spirit of activism, Kathleen will be stage managing three short plays on gun violence to be produced by Common Folk Artist Collective come fall.
