You know what I think…. What do you think?

We need to let go of our legacy print snobbery.

So many interesting discussions about AI in the voice over industry, and then there’s this poignant story in the NYT Modern Love column… what would you do to hear a loved one’s voice just one more time?

When technology offered me the chance to celebrate my dead husband’s 27th birthday, I took it.

📣📣 New release! 📣📣

It's probably been a while since you learned about Daniel Shays and the rebellion in post-revolution Massachusetts. Following the War for Independence, the newly formed country was a loose confederation of independent states. When the Massachusetts governor attempted to enforce the collection of debts through foreclosures and the courts, Daniel Shays and other leaders organized the men of western Massachusetts to close the courts and keep their neighbors from losing their farms and property.

Ultimately, Governor Bowdoin raised a militia and put the rebellion down, but the debt crisis and the resulting rebellions ultimately led to the states convening the Constitutional Convention and forming the United States of America.

It was a great honor to narrate this story, and I hope you'll have a listen!

A timely for my latest on Audible

Today, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments in a case regarding the separation of church and state. You've probably heard of the phrase, attributed to Thomas Jefferson, of the "Wall of Separation." Do you know how it was that he came to that phrase? This book is the *definitive* history on the matter. In collaboration with Redwood Audiobooks, "Separating Church and State: A History" now available!

Extremely proud of this release -- these stories of bravery and quiet heroes are being lost to time now.

Suddenly Soldiers: The 166th Infantry Regiment in World War I by Robert Thompson tells the compelling story of the young men - “citizen soldiers” - who have always borne the cost of America’s freedom with quiet courage.

Made up of companies from 10 Ohio towns, the 166th Infantry Regiment became part of the famous 42nd Division, known as the “Rainbow Division”. They were the third American division to arrive in France, where they fought courageously in the trenches at Lunéville and Baccarat before being a key part of the American effort in the Second Battle of the Marne and the Saint Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives. Despite their initial lack of training in modern warfare and weapons, the 166th Infantry compiled an impressive combat record. However, that record came at a terrible cost, with the regiment suffering over 2,000 casualties in just nine months of fighting. While they battled the Germans, these hometown Guardsmen lived in trenches and foxholes for weeks at a time, while subsisting on canned beef and coffee amid near constant rain, deep mud, rats, and body lice that made their lives miserable.

Audiobooks aren’t a cheap shortcut to reading. Sometimes they elevate a book beyond its text alone.
