THE RANCH, OUR STORY
Most people go thru life dreaming and not having their dreams come true I however, am not one of those. As a little girl I always dreamed of owning a house on a hill, marrying a cowboy and having a son. Little did I know that God would richly bless me with all of that and more.
Growing up both Glynn and I were raised as country kids, we both have laughed and joked thru the years as we were true testaments of the country song lyric “we were country when country wasn’t cool.” We met as friends and soon began dating and as the old saying goes the rest is history. Two then became three. Outside of receiving eternal salvation from our Lord and Savior we were blessed with the most precious gift that GOD could give us, our son J.D.
We felt it only fitting to take the first name of both our dads and put them together to name our son, John Daniel Robinson thus where the JDR falls in. (It wasn’t until kindergarten that he himself decided to shorten it to J.D. He told both myself and his teacher that he didn’t want to write that many letters and it has been J.D. ever since). Both of our Dads were Cowboys in their own way. My dad was a horse trainer while Glynn’s dad was both a horseman and cattleman. They both well very well respective in their respective fields and an extraordinary way of communicating with animals they were around. We realize we were truly blessed to have had them in our lives.
For “The Ranch” it was formerly built by a great friend of ours, Mr. Ronnie Moore. He built the Main Arena and the private horse barn at the entrance of The Ranch. Ronnie was gracious enough and we were privileged to keep our horses at his facility shortly after he had it built. During the time of keeping our horses there I remember back thinking and dreaming if only we had a place such as that. Little did I know that one day that dream would also become a reality. Ronnie originally named the place Rockin M Arena. Life moved us in a different direction and awhile later it also moved Ronnie in a different direction. Mr. Ronnie sold the facility to Mark and Gigi Pridmore. Mark and Gigi added the Big Barn behind the Main Arena and made some additional upgrades to the facility and it took the name of Eagle Ranch under their new ownership.
Several years had passed when Glynn approached me with “Hi, I’ve been thinking”. (When he starts a phrase with that I’ve learned over the years with him that this is either going to be real good or I might better sit down.) He then added “What do you think about buying Eagle Ranch from the Pridemore’s”. My reply was “You are crazy as *!8!”. We moved on to another conversation as quick as we had entered that one. I could tell he was serious but at the same time I thought he must have bumped his head. I can honestly say at no time in my life had I thought this or something of this nature was a choice for us. A couple of days had passed and he approached me again on this subject by saying “Hi, the other day I was serious about buying Eagle Ranch” my reply was “Yes, so was I”. We both laughed and went on to another conversation. Couple of days passed we start the conversation again. Needless to say, Glynn convinced me that this was doable for us and we then both agreed to pray hard to see if we both felt this was what GOD wanted for us. After several days Glynn approached the Pridmore’s and again, the rest is history. It has been amazing to stand back and watch GOD make this happen for us. I emphasize this because there is no way we did this on our own. Many people have questioned the purchase we made and quite frankly we questioned it ourselves but the bottom line is when GOD is ready to provide he does it in a mighty way. I do not want to misrepresent that Glynn and I have not had our share of hardships nor or we self-made millionaires I just want to give GOD the glory for all the blessings, the trails and the tribulations we have endured.
We do not know what tomorrow brings but we do know who holds the future. We only pass thru this world once and we hope to make GOD proud of allowing us to be the caretakers of such a great place.
We hope you have enjoyed learning a little bit of The Ranch history.

May God bless you all until we meet again,
Glynn,Shell and J.D.
