♟️ 2026 Fall Chess Program at Cox Science Center & Aquarium

We are excited to return to the Cox Science Center & Aquarium for our fifth year offering a chess program open to the public!

Whether your child is new to chess or already has tournament experience, this program provides an excellent opportunity to develop chess skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence in a welcoming environment.

📅 Program Dates: Every Wednesday, September 23 – November 18, 2026

⏰ Session Times:

Grades 1–4: 4:30–5:30 p.m.
Grades 5–8: 4:30–6:00 p.m.
Space is limited to the first 20 fully registered students in each age group.

🏆 Registration includes:

US Chess membership
Instruction and guided chess activities
Free entry to the West Palm Beach Championship on November 21

We are especially grateful to the Anne and Chris Flowers Foundation for its continued support of this program and its commitment to expanding access to chess in our community.

Register early to guarantee your child’s spot! In previous years, the elementary school section has filled within a week of registration opening, particularly after previous participants are notified.

The Mark Cuban Foundation AI Bootcamp, in partnership with Cox Science Center and Aquarium, PBC STEM Ecosystem, and Palm Beach State College, is hosting a free AI Bootcamp this fall! Applications are officially open for this program, where students in grades 9 through 12 will learn to actually use AI, build a real project, and work alongside our team and other students who share their interests.

No experience needed. Just three Saturdays with us. Applications close September 30.

The exhibit features 180-degree wraparound screens, realistic controls, and a high-tech cockpit environment. Join us on October 12 for a FREE day of STEM inspiration at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium in partnership with the FAU Stiles-Nicholson STEM Teacher Academy! Explore hands-on workshops, connect with local STEM organizations, discover classroom resources, and experience our newest traveling exhibition.
