People often ask about my style, and if you’ve spent time looking at my work, you may have noticed how much I love luminosity. ✨

That love started years ago when I studied with a Dutch watercolorist who taught me the power of transparency, light, and intentional brushwork. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my artistic journey.

I always wanted to paint in oils, but life had other plans while I was raising my children. When I finally made the transition, it felt like a brand new lease on life. I fell in love with the vibrancy of oil colors, but I still use them in a way that’s influenced by my watercolor roots, layering transparency and light into every piece.

I’m very intentional with my brushstrokes, though I’m always open to a happy accident along the way. For me, every painting is a balance between planning and discovery.

Sunshine, palm trees, and a few of my favorite pieces.

One of the things I love most about living in Florida part-time is getting to share my artwork in such a beautiful setting. There’s something special about seeing my paintings outside the studio, surrounded by the colors and energy that inspire so much of my work.

And let’s be honest, holding art by the beach beats holding a winter coat. 😄

One of the things I love most about art shows is the conversations they create.

Of course, I enjoy sharing my work, but what I treasure most is hearing what people see, feel, and connect with when they stand in front of a painting. Sometimes they notice details I never expected. Sometimes a piece reminds them of a memory, a place, or a feeling they thought they’d forgotten.

Art becomes something bigger when it’s shared. It opens the door to stories, perspectives, and connections that make every show a unique experience.

That’s the magic of putting artwork out into the world, once it leaves my easel, it begins a conversation of its own.
