We will also hold events at the famous Cowan house and art studio. Sam's Rapture is a 48" x 60" oil on canvas, part of Ralph Cowan's Angel Dialogue Series 1980s. He hired this black man named Sam as the model. After Cowan finished the painting, he showed it to Sam. Sam asked what Cowan was going to sell it for. Cowan said $35,000. Sam said shockingly, "And my dad said I would never amount to anything." I love this painting. And, I loved Ralph's unpretentious and unassuming generosity.
