HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Looking back, 2020 has been a trying, and difficult year..Often scary to say the least. It certainly has been hard live a “normal” life with masks on and social distancing. We all must keep moving forward while having a positive attitude today and better outlook for tomorrow.
As we have said before, Mrs. Hale’s official memorial, has had to be put on hold due to the pandemic. It is challenging to plan such a huge event not knowing when it can take place. It has been wonderful to see all the thoughts and memories pour in after her passing.
However in the meantime, thank you Jean-Hugues Feray, the Founder and Director of Paris Ballet and Dance and Paris Ballet Conservatory, and Deborah Marquez Founder and Director of Ballet Arts Dance Company. Their dedications and tributes were wonderfully thoughtful and very much appreciated.
ALSO
Thank you EVERYONE for always remembering and fostering the legacy of Marie Hale, and the Original Ballet Florida.
WE WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY, BETTER AND GREAT 2020.
Please, stay safe and healthy!

Thank you for all the tributes, comments here (and through the Ballet Florida – The Legacy Site), and the cards sent to her daughter Irma – from everyone in honor of Mrs. Hale.
Ballet Florida The Legacy website, page (hopefully soon, Instagram) were originally created to celebrate the great legacy which Marie Hale and the original Ballet Florida left behind. It was sad Mrs. Hale left us so soon. However, she was able to see the website the week before she passed. She smiled from ear to ear and reminisced about EVERYTHING...And we all NOW she could tell a story!
This page was designed for the great professional artists who danced with the original Ballet Florida to share where they are and what they are doing now. It would be fun to know where you went on, where you teach, your families, businesses, and endeavors and accomplishments etc. Please, include personal non-copyrighted photos. It would also be fun to share back stage and tour photos when you were with the Company.
THERE A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE WHO MISS AND CONSTANTLY ASK ABOUT YOU!
So, we encourage you (past professional dancers of the Company) to Facebook Message your wonderful stories or email them to: [email protected]
Thank you. Hope to hear from you soon!

Mrs. Hale had a lovely send off. Her daughter Irma found a bright red casket which was – HER – color. She traveled to the cemetery in a horse-drawn hearse named Belle, pulled by an Amish horse named Jet, driven by a lovely man named Allen. Marie always said she was never going to die so there was no idea what her wishes would be, but at one point she did tell Ed (her husband) that she wanted
NO talking, NO eulogy, NO anecdotes..Only music.
And, she requested the "Hallelujah Chorus" and "I Could Have Danced All Night." So Irma (Marie’s daughter), found a brass band to play in the cemetery. Somehow they played EVERYTHING requested. All who attended had a lovely visit with one another and
enjoyed the music. It was a lovely send off.

The Original Ballet Florida (1986 - 2009) welcomes you!
From 1986 to 2009, over twenty years, Ballet Florida was at the very core of the Performing Arts world of the vibrant City of West Palm Beach. As an ambassador for the city, the Company embraced a truly global attitude, drawing talent from around the world for both its dancers and creative staff. Blazing new trails and never afraid of a challenge, Ballet Florida brought the very best of dance to its audiences, from the most classical of ballets up to cutting-edge avant garde works from some of the brightest talents making dances in the modern world.
Ever since the tragic demise of the Company in 2008, barely a week goes by without somebody online lamenting its loss. Patrons will remember outstanding programming, and the beautiful dancers from all over the world who called Palm Beach County their home.
