This free on-going weekly improv drop-in is open to BIPOC of all levels. Whether you have no experience at all or have been improvising for years, this improv class is for you. In an effort to grow diversity at our theatre and in the theatre/improv community in general, we are currently only offering this class to Indigenous people, Black people and People of color. (BIPOC.) Improvisers are storytellers and who is telling the stories matters. Despite the best of intentions, the improv scene in the south Florida community is overwhelmingly white and we’re doing our part to change that. Come play! This will be a fun, safe and playful environment. Hope to see you there! (This class is in person!)

Jude Parry is a native of Liverpool, England who was classically trained in mime in London and Czechoslovakia, and has practiced her craft on three continents: she has performed solo in Prague, London, and New York as well as featured appearances at the International Trade Fair, Greece, The Spring Collection, Paris, The Edinburgh Festival, Scotland and the International Theatrical Carnival in Hong Kong. For the last four years, she has managed an International Cultural Exchange between England and the USA.
In addition to live appearances, she has performed for films, TV and radio and was awarded WPBT Channel 2 TV Lexus Arts Leader in July 2007; Talent of the Year Award from WLRN Public TV and Radio 2001; and Artist Educator of the Year Award by Children’s Cultural Coalition in 1999. She has also received recognition from New World School of the Arts, Miami-Dade County Commissioners and the Mayor, Citizens for a Better South Florida and numerous other groups for her work in bringing the arts to underserved audiences through Gold Coast Theatre Company

In this 8 week in person class, you will learn basic mime techniques to sharpen your physicality and improve your spatial awareness. You will create original, short non-verbal stage stories to improve communication without words. You will also get the chance to show off your talents to others and learn to critique your own performance.
