Thank you for your incredible contributions to cancer research through this vibrant and inspiring event.
I truly hoped to create painting that embodies the message of this event, which at its core, is a message of hope.
This painting is about peace in the midst of chaos, hope in the face of despair:
In the eye of a hurricane, this statue sits having found her peace in the center of a storm. Although weathered by the struggle, it is from these very cracks that new growth springs through the acceptance of these seeds of truth.
I placed in her hand a dandelion, to represent the innocence behind a wish or faith itself, because sometimes, that is what it takes to charge forth against an insurmountable task, and it takes true strength to preserve the innocence to dream.
The American Cancer society holds tight to this dream every day thanks to all those who support! Thank you for last night!
