From volunteering at the Fair to throwing out the first pitch… not a bad lineup. ⚾️👏

The South Florida Fair was proud to sponsor County Fair Night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, and one of our very own Team Fair volunteers, Joe Misilitz, got the opportunity to take the mound and throw out the first pitch!

It’s a pretty fun example of something we love about our volunteer program: there are so many different ways to get involved, meet people, support our community, and occasionally find yourself somewhere unexpected! 🤩

Sometimes the best way to understand the impact of a tradition is to hear from the young people growing up through it. 💙

At our recent Market Auction Buyers Appreciation Dinner, four young people shared their experiences at the South Florida Fair and what being part of our agricultural programs has meant to them.

Behind every animal brought into the show ring are months of early mornings, responsibility, learning, setbacks, growth, and a young exhibitor who chose to see it through. And behind those exhibitors is a community of buyers who chooses to show up for them.

Our Market Auction buyers do so much more than purchase livestock. Their support recognizes the work of our 4-H and FFA exhibitors, strengthens the agricultural traditions our Fair was built upon, and invests in young people who will carry those lessons far beyond the Fairgrounds.

To our buyers, local businesses, families, and agricultural community: thank you for raising your paddles and raising up the next generation. 💙🌱

👟 We’re excited to hit the ground running again!

The South Florida Fair Kids’ Mile returns January 16, 2027, giving local kids the chance to run, read, build confidence, and work toward one BIG finish. 🎉

Over 12 weeks, participants run approximately two miles each week, adding up to 25.2 miles, while also reading 15 minutes each day and learning about nutrition and fitness. Then comes the victory lap: completing their final mile at the South Florida Fair! 🏃‍♂️📚🎡

There’s even a Kids’ K for our littlest runners!

👟 Kids’ K: 8:20 a.m.
🏁 Kids’ Mile: 8:30 a.m.
