Louis Till
born February 7, 1922.

An American soldier. He was the father of Emmett Till, whose murder in 1955 at the age of 14 galvanized the Civil Rights Movement.

While serving in the Italian Campaign, Till was arrested by military police, who suspected he and another soldier, Fred A. McMurray, of the murder of an Italian woman and the r**e of two others, in Civitavecchia. After a lengthy investigation he and McMurray were court-martialed, found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging. The sentence was carried out at the United States Army Disciplinary Training Center north of Pisa on July 2, 1945. He was a fellow prisoner of American poet Ezra Pound, who had been imprisoned for collaborating with the N***s and Italian Fascists; he is mentioned in lines 171-173 of Canto 74 of Pound's Pisan Cantos:

Till was buried in Grave 73, Row 7 (correction: row 4 not 7) of Plot E in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery.

Louis Till is buried in France in a “small plot of land outside the official grounds of the Oise-Aisne World War I American cemetery.” His is one of 80 graves of black soldiers tried, convicted, executed and silenced forever.

The circumstances of Pvt. Till's death were not revealed to his family. Mrs. Till was only told that her husband's death was due to "willful misconduct". Her attempts to learn more were comprehensively blocked by the United States Army bureaucracy. The full details of Louis Till's crimes and ex*****on only emerged ten years later.

* Barrington Irving has teamed up with industry and community organizations to launch a professional and technical training center in South Florida to help build a pipeline of local, national, and international students in business aviation disciplines. Irving is partnering with NBAA, Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade Aviation Department, Atlantic Aviation, and Bombardier on the center that organizers say will offer innovative programs and training approaches, along with specialized technical and professional certifications. Plans call for enrolling 100 students next year.
The collaboration involves several local entities from South Florida and is seeking additional partners to help in its mission of showcasing various aspects of business aviation.

“I am extremely excited about the launch of this phenomenal program training our future pilots, engineers, technicians, and business leaders in the aviation industry,” said Miami-Dade County vice-chair Oliver Gilbert. “This training facility will position the youth in our community to take full advantage of all the opportunities that the aviation industry has to offer.”

The center is the latest in numerous initiatives that Irving has undertaken to draw new students into the industry. Flying Classroom and Experience Aviation organizations that Irving has founded have led to more than 200 students finding positions in business aviation.

Irving, who in 2007 became the youngest pilot to solo around the world in a single-engine airplane. “Business aviation has so much to offer, and our stories need to be told more often for new students to learn and grow from tangible experiences.”

Irving in 2019 was the recipient of the NBAA American Spirit Award for his dedication to mentorship and promoting STEM careers.

* Ex Firefighter Sentence to Life in Prison ....

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A former Miami-Dade firefighter was sentenced to life in prison Monday after he was convicted of child molestation and pointing a gun at his ex-wife.

The Miami Herald’s David Ovalle first reported the news Monday, confirming that Judge Ellen Venzer immediately sentenced Fernando Castano, 49, to life in prison after he was convicted of the charges.

“We respect the system, but we are very disappointed with the verdict,” defense attorney Michael A. Catalano said in a statement to Local 10 News Tuesday. “The family had all kinds of motive to make this up.”

Catalano said they are appealing the conviction.

Castano was arrested in July 2021 following a domestic disturbance with his then-estranged wife in Cutler Bay.

MIAMI – Miami police released images and video of a person of interest captured on surveillance footage near the scene of a fatal shooting in the city’s Allapattah neighborhood Friday evening.

Officers responded at about 6 p.m. to the area of Northwest Seventh Avenue and 36th Street and found a homeless man shot to death, Officer Kiara Delva, a Miami Police Department spokesperson, said Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting took place near Miami Fire Station 6.

Police later identified the victim as Charles Herman Cole, who had turned 68 just two days before his death.

Delva described the person of interest as a Black male, possibly between 19 and 29 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10, with a thin build and short dreadlocks... Let's find this dude. 👑
