The North Louisiana Sportsman’s Expo kicks off today at 3 p.m. at West Monroe Sports & Events, with more than 50 vendors, outdoor gear, demonstrations, food, live music and more.

Then it’s time to get ready for the West Monroe Gar Rodeo! Registration begins at 6 p.m. at Alley Park, followed by the captains’ meeting at 6:30 p.m. and the start of the rodeo at 7 p.m.

Can’t make it to registration? Late registration will be available at Lazarre Park from 9 p.m. to midnight.

It’s shaping up to be a great weekend in West Monroe, and we hope to see y’all out there!

It’s Gar Rodeo week!!🙌🎉

Anglers from across the region are heading to West Monroe August 28–29 for a weekend of competition, community and celebrating the Ouachita River. With pole fishing, jug fishing, catfish and bowfishing divisions for youth and adults, there are plenty of ways to get involved.
