Keep an eye out for a patriotic new addition to West Monroe!

As part of America's 250th Anniversary celebration, our friends at Ouachita Green are transforming fire hydrants throughout our community into red, white, and blue works of art inspired by the American flag. Several of these patriotic hydrants can be found right here in West Monroe, helping bring a little extra patriotic spirit to our streets as we prepare to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday.

If you spot one while you're out and about, snap a photo and share it with us! We'd love to see these community landmarks through your lens. Be sure to tag the City of West Monroe and keep an eye out for more America 250 projects happening across our city this year. ❤️🤍💙

Looking for a fun way to get outside and stay active this month? You can play pickleball and tennis right here in West Monroe at the courts at Brady Field! 🎾🥒

The courts are lined and ready to accommodate tennis and pickleball, making it easy for players of all ages and skill levels to enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

June is Great Outdoors Month, making it the perfect time to grab a paddle, invite a friend, and spend some time enjoying our local parks and recreational facilities. And while Kiroli Park remains closed for storm recovery efforts, Brady Field is a great option for getting outdoors, staying active, and enjoying some friendly competition.

Grab your fishing gear and join us for National Go Fishing Day! 🐟🎣

As we celebrate Great Outdoors Month, there's no better way to enjoy the natural beauty of West Monroe than spending a morning on the Ouachita River. We hope you will join us on Thursday, June 18, from 8–10 AM at the Downtown Riverfront Fishing Pier (108 N. Riverfront Street, near the railroad tracks) for a fun and educational fishing experience.

We're excited to welcome John David Owen, owner of Honey Hole Tackle Shop, who will be sharing fishing tips, techniques, and demonstrations for all experience levels. Looking for a fun way to keep the kids active this summer? Join The Rec at Seventh Square and the West Monroe Fire Department for a FREE Day of Play on Friday, June 12, from 10 AM–12 PM!🏀🚒

Children ages 5–14 can enjoy a morning filled with basketball, pickleball, ping pong, pool, and more. Plus, they'll have the chance to meet members of the City of West Monroe and shoot some hoops with our local firefighters!
