This week's Host shoutout goes to Jacob on our rides team! Jacob was recently recognized for his engagement with guests and fellow Hosts as he has become a trainer for his ride crew.

"I enjoy seeing all the guests happy at the rides," Jacob says. "I remember coming to Kennywood when I was younger thinking it would be awesome to operate the rides. Now, I get to do it and it's a dream come true!"

This is Jacob's third season at Kennywood. His favorite ride is the Steel Curtain, but he notes his favorite ride to operate is the Musik Express.

When he's not at Kennywood, Jacob enjoys playing and collecting video games, listening to music albumbs and watching movies.

Today, we joined the American Coaster Enthusiasts to take part in the World's Largest Coaster Ride at the Phantom's Revenge!

At exactly 2 PM on June 16, amusement parks around the world simultaneously dispatch participating coasters to celebrate the anniversary of LaMarcus Thompson's Switchback Railway, the first modern roller coaster. This year, it made perfect sense to take a ride on the Phantom's Revenge, celebrating 25 Years of Legendary Thrills and always a favorite among coaster enthusiasts.

100 Years of Memories on the Whip 🎂 The Whip is such a simple ride, but that's what makes it great! This Whip (our second) debuted in 1926 and is the last remaining 16-car Whip in North America, if not the world. It moved to its current Lost Kennywood home in 1995.

The Whip is one of those classic rides for everyone, and a lot of yinz likely remember riding it with your parents or grandparents. For the ride's 100th birthday, the cars all received new logo decals on the rear. The ride area received new fencing and fresh paint, too.
