It is with sadness we are posting to tell you that one of our volunteers, who was both onstage and backstage, passed away yesterday morning. Bill Williams will be missed, and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

After 25 years, 74 shows, 6 state and regional AACT competition shows, more than 70 scholarships given, countless community service projects, hundreds of wonderful friendships and more memories than can ever be counted, The Little Theatre of Crittenden County sadly and officially dissolved on July 28, 2020.

Brought together once again by a love of theatre everything ended as it began for LTCC in 1995 with a gathering of friends at the home of Bobbi Dodge. A group of determined people turned a “you can’t” declaration into 25 successful years of “oh, yes we can” community theatre. Unfortunately, however, a lack of performance facilities, participation, and the overwhelming expense of producing quality stage productions were contributing factors that forced the decision to dissolve LTCC.

Community theatre originated in West Memphis in the early 1970’s by some of the same people who brought it into the 90’s: Al Appling, Don Christian and Bobbi Dodge who also witnessed its ending. Also, at the gathering were theatre participants from the 80’s and founding members of LTCC: Arthur & Liz Rust and Lisa Bell. This group along with newer participants Charlotte Hunter, Norman Hunter and Sarah Beth Christian raised a champagne toast to LTCC -the accomplishments, the friendships, the memories and to those theatre family members who have died - especially Jane Reece, Stan Perry, Rockie Smith, Judy Appling, Pat Dodge, and Patti Christian Noles.

LTCC thanks everyone who has ever participated in community theatre on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience for your longstanding support and encouragement. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

It is the wish of The Little Theatre of Crittenden County that adult theatre will eventually evolve to its next phase and that theatre will continue to live on in the community.
